Anchored Shrimp is a family owned harvester, dealer, and processor of locally caught fresh fish. They are a certified Wild Georgia Shrimp dealer with a dock in nearby McIntosh County. We go here a lot for our shrimp. It is so delicious even frozen because they flash freeze it right off the boat. You can’t get much fresher than Anchored Shrimp. And they sell local sausage, merch and all the seasonings you’d want for a delicious evening at home.
So it was my birthday, and I’m more of a fish guy than a steak guy. Cassie took me to pick out whatever my heart desired for that evening. I knew I liked Red Snapper, so we picked up a filet of that. Right next to it was something with which I wasn’t familiar, Vermillion Snapper. Game on! Let’s have a blind taste test!
We headed home with our treasure and built up our little bundles of joy in parchment adding couscous, fresh herbs and pepper from ythe garden and lemon on a bed of spinach. Aside from being bigger, we didn’t notice much difference in the taste. Both were melt in your mouth, sweet and mild delights.
Anchored Shrimp ices and fuels a steady fleet of independent shrimp vessels that trawl the waters of coastal Georgia. We love our local fishermen and we bless them each season. They supply to dozens of local restaurants. They routinely run a full page ad in the Brunswick News thanking the restaurants for buying local. We all thank them! They also have an online store and they ship anywhere in the country!
