Catch 228 is a local hangout for families and fun. There’s a comfortable laid-back island vibe about the place with something for everyone: sports on the telly, outdoor seating, a full bar and solid, good food. We often go for happy hour 4 – 6pm when you can get a dozen oysters for just $15 and discounts on beer and wine as well.
Most oysters in the Golden Isles come from the Chesapeake Bay and James River area of Virginia and they are very good IMHO. Every once and while you can get lucky and get some fresh McIntosh oysters and you’ll be in for a rich, buttery treat! We’re purists and like ours raw and washed down with a Silver Bluff Beer. But you can get your oysters steamed, baked or fried. Their unique Oysters 228 come baked with crab, spinach and hollandaise. Oh my goodness!
Ask about the catch of the day or try their calamari, fresh catch dip, Wild Georgia Shrimp, fish and chips, Ahi tuna, delicious scallops, crab legs and much more! There really is something for everyone here! Our friends got a dozen steamed oysters, salad and wings and were more than happy.

I’m a real sucker for a grouper sandwich and Catch 228 does not disappoint. That fish is so hunky, tender and flaky I’m salivating just thinking about it. The chef brought out a beurre blanc sauce that really tipped the flavors over the edge. We paired it with the house made chips and blue cheese which I highly recommend.

This is a fun place. Kids have their own menu and can be themselves out on the patio. With a full bar and the Georgia game on the tv, everyone can have a good time.
