Saturday night in the Golden Isles called for something comforting, so we picked up a pizza to go from Sal’s Pizza—and it did not disappoint. Ordering and picking up a pizza is easy and usually ready in thirty-minutes or so.

Every bite of Sal’s pizza is full of flavor—savory, satisfying, and made with care. Our favorite is the Deluxe, a hearty combination of pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and black olives. Pizzas come in 14”, 16”, and 18” sizes, perfect for couples, families, or gatherings with friends.
If you prefer to create your own masterpiece, the topping list is long and creative—think broccoli, feta, bacon, eggplant, artichoke hearts, prosciutto, and more. There’s truly something for everyone.

Salvatore “Sal” “Rocky” Cenicola III
We never had the pleasure of meeting Sal. He passed away literally 2 months before we moved to St. Simons, but he is LEGEND. A former professional boxer, Sal holds a record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest interval between professional boxing matches (25 years and 66 days), and is a 2012 inductee into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame.
As an actor, Sal was also very active in The Island Players and even played a gangster in the Ben Affleck movie, Live By Night. People still talk about his big personality and he is very much missed.
After visiting nearly every pizza spot in the Golden Isles, I can say it with confidence: Sal’s Pizza might be one of our favorites. It’s everything you’d want from a neighborhood pizzeria—flavorful, welcoming, and made with love.
