When I first walked into 24 Coastal Grill, I didn’t expect to find one of Jekyll Island’s most relaxing dinner spots tucked inside the Holiday Inn Resort. But sometimes the best meals are hiding in plain sight — and this one comes with an ocean view that does half the talking.
The restaurant’s coastal-casual design — light wood tones, beachy neutrals, and that steady hush of waves — instantly puts you at ease. It’s not fancy or fussy. It’s comfortable, breezy, and grounded in the same easy charm that makes Jekyll feel like nowhere else.
A Warm Welcome
Before I even looked at the menu, I noticed how genuinely friendly the staff was. My server, Jenn, treated every guest like a regular. Drinks arrived before I had time to miss them, and every team member seemed right at home which made me feel right at home. That Southern charm is a staple of the Golden Isles.
We started with the shrimp appetizer. I’m not sure if you knew this about me, but I kind of have an addiction to Buffalo shrimp and these were that sweet tenderness you could expect in Georgia and cooked to perfection!
I got the Cobb salad — crisp greens, avocado, bacon, and hard-boiled egg — topped with that same blackened salmon. It’s the kind of “light meal” that leaves you full but not heavy. Very fresh and generous.
PC was over the moon with his entree. He ordered the blackened redfish with lemon beurre blanc, brown rice pilaf, and broccolini. It was $24, a bargain for the freshness and quality. Redfish is a common catch on the Georgia coast and we are huge fans of blackening. It was so flaky and delicious!
That Gorgeous Jekyll View
There’s a reason people talk about the view here. Whether you sit inside or out by the fire pits, the sound of the surf becomes part of the atmosphere. As the sky glowed orange from the sunset in the west, the whole patio seemed to glow — the sort of golden moment that makes you want to stay for one more drink.
This is the Holiday Inn. But it feels really homey. Clean and casual. It’s a spot that will only get better with age.
Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxed dinner, a cocktail with a view, or just an easy night by the water, 24 Coastal Grill is worth the stop. I must admit I have not tried the breakfast but I would if their other service is any indication, I would say you can’t go wrong.
