You can often find them at Crab Corner on St. Simons Island or First Fridays or 5 and 10k races or The Galley Food Truck Park, but whatever you do — FIND THEM! I’m talking about the incredible Redemption Bowl Acai Bowl Truck.

We caught up with Omar Guzman, the founder of Redemption, at The Galley Food Truck Park on a cloudy Saturday in January. What a genuinely nice guy Omar is. Like so many young entrepreneurs we showcase, Omar graduated from the Coastal College of Georgia. In a really smart move, he got a job at Smoothie King to learn the ins and outs of operations, and on a fateful trip to Florida once, he discovered the magical Brazilian Acai berry. He was immediately enamored with the health benefits as well as the really delicious taste. More importantly, he realized that absolutely no one was serving Acai bowls in the Golden Isles. And an industry was born.

The Benefits of Acai Berry

We got his best seller: The Classic OG. I can’t recommend it enough. At first glance, you can clearly see the strawberries, blueberries, banana and peanut butter, and that’s pretty exciting already, but once you dig your spoon down to that Acai base and granola, you’re in a whole new level of culinary bliss. The base ties it all together. It’s bursting with flavor and is really very addictive, and that crunchy granola just drives it all home.

After I tried the Acai Bowl, I went out to run some errands. I called Cassie, and she asked what I had for lunch.
I said, “An Acai Bowl from Redemption Bowl Food Truck.”
She said, “What?”
“Acai Bowl”
… silence.
“…a fruit bowl.”

The laughter was palpable. Not exactly my usual. But 3 hours later I was still satisfied and found myself actually feeling really good. Food that makes you feel good… What a concept! I’m craving it right now and I’ll definitely be seeking out Redemption Bowl again soon.

And they have so much more. There are tons of options to choose from including mango, pineapple, coconut, pitaya bowls, blue majik bowls, smoothies… Go find your Redemption Bowl today and tell ’em Brunswick Eats sent ya.
